I was reading a 2016 horror manga anthology and saw this character design that looked very similar to Cosmo. The anthology is called Brain Damage if you want to read it it's pretty heavy at times so be warned. This same story involves someone cooking and eating a person and putting them into different foods, this could of also been referenced with Denji.
Though they look similar I don't think it's too easy to just say he used this character as reference so I won't put a point for it.
Cosmo was originally referred to as Zombie, the other character is a zombie, so it is likely.

I was reading '95 underground manga collection called Sake Jock. In it there was a story about how if cats eat something they lose their ears. The visual of the cat without ears seems very similar to the shot in Chapter 173.
Sake Jock
Chainsaw Man 173
Whether I get a point for this or not is weird, I don't know. I'm going to flip a coin. Head I do, tails I don't.
I got heads :)
